Color Inspiration #42

I almost didn't get to do this Color Inspiration. Last week, I was up to my ears in Girl Scout Cookies and Stampin' Up! Parties, so I did not have any time for stamping. When Kristina said she was extending the deadline until today, I decided to give it a try.

I started out trying to make a card for my Husband's birthday (which is today), but when I colored to cake with these colors, it looked really gross! So I had to pick another stamp for this card. I think this looks so much better!

Materials for this card are: Pocket Silhouettes stamp set; More Mustard, Kiwi Kiss, Really Rust and Whisper White card stock; Really Rust and Kiwi Kiss Classic Stamp Pads; Crafter's Tool Kit; Stampin' Dimensionals.

Teacher Valentine's

Here is the card for my daughter's teachers. This card is so simple to make! It's a great last-minute card if you still have Valentine's to make. The card is my version of Kristina's Make a Card Monday from a few weeks ago. The front of the card involves no stamping at all, just punches. I stamped a greeting on the inside.

Materials for this card: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette card stock; Bella Rose DSP; Heart to Heart and Scallop Edge Punch; Stampin' Dimensionals.
Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

This Week's Color Inspiration

Kristina's got a great Color Inspiration again this week. I used Polka Dot Punches again this week. I really don't have much to say about the card, so here ya go.

My husband asked me last night if the picture of my clean desk was really taken in our house. He even went into my craft room to check it out!

Materials for this card: Polka Dot Punches; Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray and Whisper White card stock; Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad; Scallop Circle Punch; Basic Black grosgrain ribbon; Stampin' Dimensionals.

Hey, have I mentioned that you can get this set for free with a $50 order? Click here to place your order.

School Valentine's

Today I want to share the Valentine's I made for my daughter's class. First, thought, I want to share something else I've been working on.
I cleaned my desk! I have been needing to clean for a while now. I haven't seen this much of the surface of my desk in a really long time. It did make working on the Valentine's more enjoyable and it made me want to clean up after I was finished working. That would be the reason why my desk was a mess in the first place!

I wasn't going to make Valentine's for my daughter's classmates. At least not stamped ones. I had seen some cute printable ones, so I thought I might use those. Her teacher gave the parents a list of the children's names this morning, so Valentine's were on my mind while I was on my way to the dollar store. (I got some great stuff for stamping there that you'll see next week!) I came up with the idea for these Valentine's while driving, so I decided that I would stamp Valentine's.

They are pretty simple and they did not take long to make 13. I used Wild About You and since I didn't have a Happy Valentine's Day stamp, I used the retired Write Me a Memory font to print it out on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the circle punch.

Materials for the cards are: Wild About You stamp set; Regal Rose, Rose Red, Almost Amethyst, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock; Regal Rose, Almost Amethyst and Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pads; 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 Circle Punches; Metallic Eyelets; Crop A Dile; Write Me a Memory Cd (Retired).
Friday, I will have the cards I made for her teachers, so stay tuned!

The Benefits of Being a Demonstrator

I've written posts before about all of the benefits that come with being a Demonstrator (like earning extra money), but today I wanted to share with you one of the unexpected benefits I got from being a Demonstrator.

Before I became a Demonstrator, I was terrified of public speaking. Seriously, if I had to speak in front of a group, even if it was just making announcements, I would get hot, my face would turn red, and my heart would race. My sister and I organized a community fundraiser and the local news came to interview us about it and I refused to participate in the interview.

Now I regularly speak before groups of people and that same local news channel interviewed me about my Stampin' Up! business a few years ago. And while I still get a little nervous before a workshop, I definitely don't have the symptoms I used to. I even volunteer to speak in front of large groups now!

Starting your own Stampin' Up! Business will be what ever you make it and sometimes you will get an unexpected benefit like conquering one of your fears!

If you would like to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, please contact me today to get started. Now is a great time to get started because the Starter Kit is 15% off and you get to add any stamp set in the Catalog to your Starter Kit for Free!

Color Inspiration #40

Time for another great Color Inspiration from Kristina! These colors made me go hmmm it first, but that's why I love Kristina's Color Inspiration. It makes me use colors I might not otherwise use. I used to get stuck in color ruts. I remember when I first became a demonstrator, I used Lovely Lilac, Pink Passion and Green Galore ALL the time.

This was a fun card to make. It was quick, too! I made it while my daughter was eating her morning snack. This set is Polka Dot Punches. It's one of the Sale-A-Bration sets, so ask me how you can get it for free! I am having so much fun with this set. I love how each of the stamps coordinates with a punch.

Materials for this card are: Polka Dot Punches and A Little Birthday Cheer stamp sets; Old Olive, Taken with Teal, So Saffron and Whisper White card stock; Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad; Old Olive, Taken With Teal and More Mustard Stampin' Write Markers; Earth Elements Brads; Scallop Circle and 1 3/4 inch Circle punches; Crafter's Tool Kit; Old Olive 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon; Stampin' Dimensionals.

Want to join my stamping team?

Now is a great time to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I became a Demonstrator because I love Stampin' Up! products and I wanted to find a way to make extra money to buy stamps. Five years later, I quit my full time job in human resources so that I could stay at home with my daughter. Now I am a demonstrator so that I can supplement my family's income and be at home with my daughter.

In February and March, you can sign up to be a Demonstrator and get 15% off the Starter Kit and add ANY stamp set in the catalog to your Starter Kit for free. You'll get $335 of products for just $169!

If you would like to become a demonstrator contact me today to learn how you can get started!

Super Stamping Bowl Projects

I wanted to share the projects we made yesterday at my Super Stamping Bowl. We had a great time, ate some yummy food and I gave away some great prizes!

The small 3x3 card is similar to one that is the website for Demonstrators. I didn't have the stamps they used on the original card, so I just took the general idea and made it my own. It will make a great Valentine's Day card!

Materials for this card are: Love You Much stamp set; Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip and Naturals White card stock; Regal Rose and Basic Gray Classic stamp pads; Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink and Blush Blossom Stampin' Write markers; Scallop Circle Punch; Silver Brads; Stampin' Dimensionals.

The full size card is based on one that Kristina Werner did for a Two Peas in a Bucket class. I think it turned out really cute, so I am making a few more to send as my February birthday cards. I really like the simplicity of it.

Materials for this card are: Party Hearty stamp set; Sahara Sand, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card stock; Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze Classic stamp pads; Kiwi Kiss Patterns DSP; Chocolate Chip 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon; Stampin' Dimensionals.
